Your personal page on Collectors Weekly is a place where you can display items from your own collection, track favorites, and share your knowledge with others.
We want to make it easy for collectors to build a web page. Our goal is to create a showcase for the passion and knowledge of collectors everywhere, and a great place to explore and learn about antiques and collecting.
1) Post a profile of yourself. 2) Post commentary on specific items. 3) Upload items from your own collection. 4) Track favorites from eBay and other collectors.
Pick a short, fun username (nickname) you like, maybe related to what you collect. It will appear on all your pages, and its the only thing you can't change later.
Once you've created an account, start by adding some profile information (e.g.: your location, clubs, bio paragraph, and a picture or favorite image). Then you can add favorites and commentary and upload items from your own collection.
First log in, then click "Upload a New Item" on your personal page. Fill out the title, description and date (if known), then click "Choose Images" to select one or more photos from your hard drive (JPG or GIF format). Once the images appear, click "Primary Photo" next to the one you want on top. Then click "Save Item," and you're done! You can go back and edit your text any time.
Go to any Collectors Weekly page with eBay items, mouse over an item and click on the heart in the lower right corner. From there you can add commentary and/or save it to your favorites.
To add commentary, mouse over any item and click on the heart in the lower right. This will take you to a page where you can add commentary (history, description, etc). You can also edit or delete your commentary from that page.
Folders let you organize your uploaded items and commentary by theme. Create new folders by clicking on (+ New Folder) and entering a folder name. Then click on "file this" next to any item and select the folders you want. You can rename folders or even delete them, but the items inside will not be deleted.
If you're on another collector's page, and want to make a shortcut to their page, click 'follow' next to their photo. Now their page will appear on the 'Other Collectors' dropdown menu of your page.
We’re working on a bunch of things right now, including photo and caption editing and the ability to control the order of your folders and the items within them. Stay tuned!

Yes! Tell anybody you want about it (as you would your own website or blog). The web address is: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/collectors/(your username).
When other people view your page, they can see your profile information and your commentary and uploads. They cannot see your favorites, or your email address.
Please send us an email and we'll try to get it added right away.
