Where did the Easter bunny and his basket of eggs come from anyway? According to this ArtFix Daily article, German immigrants brought the tradition to America in the 1700s. The evidence can be found at the Winterthur Museum in Delaware, which just acquired one of the earliest known U.S. folk-art depictions of the famous thumper, shown below. While it’s slightly less cute than the chicks above, its story is fascinating.
