Contemporary art books seem to be the most valuable art books these days. Art magazines were fashionable at one time, mostly in Europe, and today are valued for their lithographed prints of often now-famous art. Other collectible art books include retrospectives of an artist's work, illustrated Biblical texts, and various short illustrated books meant more as a showcase for the art than for the text.
