The Chevrolet Chevelle, launched in 1964 as a competitor to the Ford Fairlane, was produced through 1977 when it took the name of the Malibu (one of the top of-the-line Chevelle models). The Chevelle line ranged from family cars to powerful coupes and convertibles.
