Although Ford produced its first Model A in 1903, it was the 1927 model by that name which turned into a huge success, following in the footsteps of its predecessor the Model T. The 1927 Model A was available in four colors, and was the first Ford to use a standard set of driver controls. Almost five million Model A's were made between 1927 and the end of production in 1933 (when it was replaced by the V-8 or Model B).
Over the years, Ford produced several different Model A varieties, including two-seater coupes with a rumble seat, roadsters where the top came down, and two-door sedans with a front and back seat. There was also a four door sedan, and a high-end convertible called the Cabriolet with windows that went up and down.
