Texaco (originally Texas Fuel Company) was founded in 1901 after a major oil strike, and for most of the 20th century the company's red star logo adorned thousands of service stations (not mention everything from oil cans to screwdrivers to ashtrays). Texaco collectors look for the older red star logo, and for items bearing major Texaco product names like Indian, Havoline, and Fire-Chief.
