The 'Golden Era of Magic' (1890-1930) generated thousands of colorful posters of all sizes, advertising impossible feats of famous magicians like Kellar, Houdini, and Carter the Great. Generally produced through lithography printing (multiple sizes of the same image were made), these posters featured magicians performing a specific trick, along with their name and a short blurb about the show.
Vintage posters are highly collectible, as they make for great discussion pieces and bridge the worlds of art and history. There are many collectible poster varieties, such as wartime, movies, music, political, sports, circus, aviation, railroad and pure art. Condition, rarity and attractiveness are especially critical with posters - do your homework before you buy.
