About Vintage Records

Records replaced phonograph cylinders around 1900, and had a great 80-year run until the CD came along. Earlier 78rpm records were made of rubber, with later 45rpm singles and 33rpm LP’s (long play) were made of vinyl. Record collectors value discs in a variety of ways, including scarcity, condition, artist and specific recording, album cover and label art.
