Description

Cute little antique mantel clock with Laporte Hubbell movement. Notice the delicate legs and the ornament on top. The case body appears to be nickel plated brass, with a greenish-black antique finish. The back of the case is wood, the dial is paper on a brass pan, and there is a flat glass lens over the dial and hands.

The movement is labeled:

L. HUBBELL
PATD. OCT. 20, 1865

* Dial minute track diameter: 2 1/4 inches
* Dial type: Paper with Roman numerals
* Weight: 1 pound

Laporte Hubbell specialized in making clock movements in Bristol, Connecticut for many years. He sold most of his movements to other makers, who marketed the complete clocks.
