Other information:
The ancient art of making jewelry from glass has undergone a revolution. Today, artists from around the world are creating spectacular pieces, both wearable and purely sculptural, where glass in all its forms complements or even takes the place of precious metals and gemstones. The artists in this exhibition employ highly sophisticated glassworking techniques such as blowing, flameworking, casting and sandblasting to realize their ideas. The results exploit the mystery, sensuality, color and reflective properties of glass.
Among the participating artists are: Sydney Cash, Simsa Cho, Dan Clayman, Giselle Courtney, Laura Donefer, Kathleen Elliot, Don Friedlich, Tarja Lehtinen, Sari Liimatta, Michaela Maria, Linda MacNeil, Richard Meitner, James Minson, Joyce Roessler, Amy Rueffert, Rob Snyder, Blanche Tilden and Karen Wilenbrink-Johnson.
This exhibition coincides with the Glass Art Society Conference (GAS) being held in Louisville from June 10 - 12, 2010.
This event is a museum event and expects 501-1000 people.
