The Coins and History of Asia
T. K. Mallon-McCorgray really loves Near Eastern, Persian, Indian, Central Asian, and Chinese coins, dating from 600 BC to 1600 AD. To prove it, since 1996, he’s compiled information about more than 3,600 coins, each of which has been scanned on the obverse and reverse and uploaded to his comprehensive website. While the emphasis is on Hunnic, Central Asian, and Sasanian coinages (there are 1,300 or so Sasanian examples, including seven pages devoted to coins minted during the 7th-century reign of Khusro II), you’ll also find Armenian and Sri Lankan coins.
