a small leather coin purse I inherited from an aunt. It is full of old silver coins but I am much more interested in the purse itself. The leather is very soft and the cap is engraved. There is no label or name to give an indication as to where it was made or who made it.

Thanks Pops. I have more purses among other things from my parents and aunts. I remember looking at many of them as a child. It is nice (and fun) to have somewhere to share them.

We have one that the leather looks very similar but it is a snap type change purse. Ours has a tag Made in Italy which is also written in French. The leather is very soft to the touch. The tag is very small (magnifying glass small) and is sewed to the inside seam.
Thanks fhrjr. I had felt along the seams for a tag before. The purse is difficult to turn inside out with the metal top but after reading your post I decided to carefully turn it and look for a tiny tag, especially along the top close to the metal opening. Nothing, darn it.
