I have this little fellow for as long as I can remember. I got it from my aunt. My best guess is - based on his size - that he was part of a desk set, maybe a paperweight. There are no marks at all.

    Thanks for looking:)

Are the holes in the bottom threaded to accommodate a screw?
    4. freiheit freiheit, 11 years ago
fhrjr2, I have no idea. I will have to have a look when I get home:)

Thanks a lot, DrFluffy, toolat2, and Zowie.
It is possible, Zowie, that there was a cover on the bottom. But if it was, it's long gone.

The way the bottom is made it looks like the kind of item that would be mounted on a polished piece of wood and sold in a tourist shop. The screws went up through the bottom of the wood to hold everything together. Lots of trophies they hand out to students are made the same way.

fhrjr2, I think you are absolutely correct. Mine is almost identical. I guess my little fellow lost its base a long time ago. Remarkable that you found it!!! Thanks:)

It just seems as if it had 1 at some stage.
