All I know about this one is it did many years duty on a fish cleaning table in northern Minnesota. It has an interesting Bowie style tip and a double taper cross section on the blade and no markings that I noticed. I don't have it in front of me at the moment but it is in the neighborhood of 12" to 14" long.

There is/was one with the same blade design on Antique navigator. Although they called it a jungle bolo and also a butchers cleaver. Obviously not a jungle bolo but I guess it worked because the guy sold it. The hole in the blade to hang it up goes with a cleaver and it also has a fish design with the hole being the eye and the tip of the blade the fishes nose. Doesn't look long enough to be a blubber knife. Butt end of the handle looks like it was turned on a real old lathe. Looks like they used a parting tool down to about a quarter inch then sawed it off. Although the handle could very well have been replaced. I like this and I bet AR8 is laughing at us trying to figure it out.

I don't know how I missed your comment till now fhrjr2. I didn't get an email as usual.
I don't think I have seen that website, I'll have to check it out. "blubber knife", "jungle bolo" hmmm, It always helps to have some good key words to search with.

Yeah Kevin was handy to have around. I don't "get around" like some of you folks on CW, does AR8Jason ever return to poke at the carcuss?

This is the best match I have found so far and now I can add buffalo skinner and fish monger to my search.
