It might be hard to believe, but my interest in cameras did not start with early wood and brass apparatus. My first 35mm camera was an Olympus Pen S 1/2-frame, and over time I moved into better gear.

Here’s an example of the kind of stuff I lugged around. Shown here is a Nikon F and Photomic FTn finder with a 200 – 600 mm Zoom-Nikkor gracing the body. Yep ... it’s as heavy as it looks but definitely a good shooter back in the day.

Later I graduated to larger format cameras up to 11 x 14 inches. In other words, this is a small camera from my point of view. It’s not worth much but I keep it around for sentimental reasons.

Those were fun days and I occasionally miss the smell of darkroom chemistry.

What type of photography were you doing back at the time you were using this or the large format cameras?

Thanks, David! I shot freelance for a while (35mm stuff) and then freelanced architecture photography shooting a 4x5 Cambo with several lenses. I also shot art photography using 6x6 cm, 6x7 cm and 4x5 through 8x10 inch formats. Also dabbled in 11x14.

Lots of nice pictures are being posted lately and discussions of cameras being used. I posted this a couple years back and thought it would be interesting to resurrect ... it was one of my favorite 35mm 'shooters'. I still have the camera and a couple lenses, interchangeable ground glass focusing screens, etc.
