For a long time I was looking for a nice storage for my collection.
In modern form of course it was there for a long time. Now actually happens I found this beautiful large antique wooden table display with a glass lid and generous dimensions: 32.3 x 13.4 x 4.3 "(82 x 34 x 11 cm) The wooden "coffin "is lined with black velvet. There is a beautiful lock on and I am very happy with this because a nicer "setting " to show jewelry is not there.
The only thing I would like to know is the dating. Do you have any idea??

The picture is blurry and a dark background, but it looks like it has an older piano hinge. Can you tell me please if there are tacks or screws used to fasten the hinge? I can't see any of the corner joints but the fact that it has exposed glue blocks tends to make me thing they are butt joints. Can you see any type of joint where the corners meet?

Agram.m, I have a couple of these but Mine are black enamel, not wood grain showing. The ones I have are around the early teens to 20's. your appears to be older. As an example , several watch companies made something similar to these, the earlier would be a natural wood with stain, the later would be blacked. Thinking these might fall into the same notion.
