I had no idea with a peptonizer was used for. Here is the definition:

pep·to·nize [pep-tuh-nahyz] Show IPA
verb (used with object), pep·to·nized, pep·to·niz·ing.
1. to subject (food) to an artificial, partial digestion by pepsin or pancreatic extract in order to aid digestion.
2. to hydrolyze or dissolve by a proteolytic enzyme, as pepsin.

Also, especially British, pep·to·nise.

Bought this at a vintage store!!

Check out "Savory and Moore's Peptonized Cocoa & milk"!
    Edwardian product.
    Nice art nouveau style advertisements.

There is mention of this type of peptonizing agent here:

    Dr......wow Pepto// as Peptobismol''..in a glass tube..fantastic....!!
I have tube knowledge...that is for sure..except mine are vacuum tubes!
about 200 from the 40' thru the 60'..many in original rca.philco..go figure delco and zenith.... It seem most everything of today started in a tube!!.. from medicine to radio's ..I have seen this..and I learned the simple'est answer is correct..and it is rite in front of you...in its title..or some part of title..is what it is..
lord above things I have discovered here in this house..no pun intended but a light goes off in my head aahhh that is what that is...or that is what it is made of. it is fun..to be my own question and answer gal all in one to myself..save time on finding items true origins ..and the true imposters are easier to spot as well.
okay ....hope you liked the read..that is all for now.....wr.
