      Tach is correct, I'd venture to say went on old 2 stroke Detroit Diesel, top RPM was approx 2200 rpm at max throttle.

      Stewart Warner is a big time player in tach's so you shouldn't have any problem researching it. I agree with kerry that it was probably for a diesel engine.
