I picked up these unassuming little jars at this past weekend's antiques show. Very inexpensive, but I immediately recognized them as in the style of the Antique Revival period that started shortly after the International Exhibition in London in 1851. Alabaster glass, transfer printed imagery that represents ancient Greek and/or Roman scenes. These jars are 150 years old - Harrach did this type of glass in these colors in the 1860s in order to compete with their English rivals in their own market. Besides, they are functional - I'm using one to store my measuring tape, and the other to hold my jeweler's loupe - now I won't have to go searching when I need them!

I think I have come across a pair of plinths in the same type of decor, sold as Consolidated candlesticks.

I also recognized the colors, and details of the antique revival design by Harrach and also by Richardson UK. Was there any number or other type of marks on your lovely boxes? Also wondering if FB has a group for this type of older glass?

      Thank you.
