      Interesting little item and it works. As I recall these had a stick antenna how is he going to get reception?

      It has a pull out antenna!

      Right but that will only pick up analog signals and then only if there are no big buildings in the way. I wondered if he was going to try modifying it. Kids do funny things with electronics.
