I found this car from a guy selling another car online. I was pretty interested in the one he had up for sale and then he told me he had another Beetle sitting in his yard that he would sell and I jumped on the opportunity. I was sitting in his so called junkyard for quite some time for his son to fix up but he had a family and didn't have time for it. This car was in Minnesota and today it is in Illinois slowly getting restored back to its former glory.

Looks like a good car to start a project. Are the floors anygood? Often a weak point on Bugs (lots of other old cars too). You did not say what year it is, early 60s I am guessing. My aunt had a oval window Bug back in the day, drove it until it about broke in half. I guess it still ran OK when they had to give it up, I was real little at the time. If you are doing your first restoration, VWs are great as they were easy to work on. Not like todays cars......

It is a 1960 like it says in the title. The floors are solid which was a surprise cause of Midwest winters and such. And this is my Second Beetle out of the 3 that I own. First Beetle I have already restored and this one and my third one are still a work in progress.

I heard you mention Minnesota....did this car happen to come from around the Fergus Falls area? If so, I drove that car once....the old guy who owned it used it to pick up his mail at the end of his very long driveway. And he had an informal junkyard with a whole lot of vw cars on his farm.

No it came from Canby, Minnesota. The owner had only 2 or 3 other Volkswagen's in his yard and they were pretty gone which was sad. Maybe years ago it was up by Fergus Falls. You never know.

Yeah...that car looks really familiar. Canby is a ways away from Fergus Falls, but it could very well be the same one.
