Another new addition & would love to know more about this item. It has different thicknesses of glass so I will do my best to explain them. I'm sure it is Lead base paint & is hand painted. Length of base is 2 1/2 inches (5 cm), the width of the base is 4 3/4 inches approc or (4 1/2 cm). The width from top beak is 4 inches (8 cm), from the lower beak 4 3/4 inches or (4 1/4 cm). On the frontal shot I think it was made from a mold as it looks to have a slight seam inbetween were the gills are. Height to highest part of Roosters comb is 4 inches (8 cm). In the centre from base is a hole that would be big enough to snuff out casndle 6 inches in depth. The side of glass from the beak underneath to hole is approx1/2 inch thickness, on the side with the comb it's thickness is approx less then 1/2 a inch. Slight ware from cleaning cannot feel any chips or cracks. Could it be a candle snuff or does someone know exactly what it is would really really really love the help.

Sorry ozmarty no thread on inside of glass have run my finger over it a few times & do not get that feeling at all. Otherwise I would of thought the same. That's why I thought maybe candle snuffer I know they have a handle normally but in this case I thought it was the rooters comb used instead.

Thank you again ozmarty this time it took me to Ebay & you are correct still no rim on inside but can see it had a cork instead. My partner will think he is clever as he is Italian & thinks he spots all things Italian.
