hello I have this steiff bear he is 8 inches long. and has button in ear.
Can anyone tell me his age ect..... I cannot find him in books or internet. His eyes are different from the other steiff bears, but original to him. Any info would be great.
    Thanks

He has a button in ear ,what does it say ? He does not look like a steiff bear . But maybe if you look at 1950's they decreased quality and made one like him . Sorry I can't be more help . I will await what button says .

What are eyes made of plastic or glass ? I am baffled by the paws made of stnethic material and hair does not appear mohair . The unfinshed arms with no paws Just doesn't ring steiff to me :-(
      This is interesting article

What you have is a Dralon Teddy Petsy. He's in the Pfeiffer Sortiment book (1947-99) on page 50, article number 0242/24, made from 1970-76. I recently purchased one on eBay, but wanted to find out beforehand if he really is a Steiff (because of the "google" eyes), so I did a Google image search and found this one: http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/2512812 Apparently, he's fairly rare, especially with those eyes (he doesn't have the google eyes in the Sortiment book). Pfeiffer rates him at a 4-5, which is pretty impressive! Since he's hard to identify, I'm not sure how much you'll get for him, but if you let people know where to find him, it may help. Good luck!
