Jade but not cold enough???

I wanted to get an idea about this piece. I was told by a jeweler that it was made out of Jade. However, when I took it to a consignment store, they thought it may be a different material because it was not as cold as the Jade in the store. I asked if sitting in a hot automobile had anything to do with it and the answer was no. I would like to find out who she is before I proceed any farther.
