i know i know its a treacherous beast but its sooo dang pretty,..i treat it like a 30 day clock with only a couple of cranks on it instead of winding it the full year amount,..cause i dont want it to explode,..this is the one with the unusal spring set up where there is no easy way to let down the mainspring,..the thing it uses indtead of a click is buried in the center of the spring,..so if you try and undo the back to work on it the spring willl basicly EXPLODE at you,..can do a heck of a lot of damage cause its a HUGE counterwound spring with a mulekick stored in it,..and its back is only held on with 4 normal screws so its temptign fopr amatures to try and fiddle with it,..DONT!!!,.only way to let it down is to dismantle the movement from the front and sneak up on it,..also the hub holdign all that tension in place is made of plastic,...so what happens to plastic after 30 years? thus the timebomb nickname,..so im gonna use it til it dies,..cause,..well,...its a gorgeous clock

Hi. I have this same clock. Do you know if it is worth money? If so how much and any suggestions on where to take it?

kaliegh94, you can take it to #9 Calabash Rd, in St. Maarten, & give it to me! Don't guess you would fall for that, but I always try.

hmmm well its worth the novelty of it and the conversation pieceness of it,...but cash wise,..well they have a few on ebay,..but i found mine with the crank at the local thrift store for less than 10 bucks,..and like i said its very pretty,..if the spring ever breaks its done tho,.so DONT wind it all the way,..im trying to find the sweet spot thats 30 days or so ,..so i can put it on my 30 day clock sched to put a couple cranks on it the first of the month,..dont think they have huge value just cause they are all on borrowed time parden the pun
