    I confess I know NOTHING about antique baskets. I inherited a couple of old baskets from a friend's estate years ago. He wanted to be sure I got them so they didn't get tossed out. (I guess he saw a hoarder-in-training...)

    I THINK this might be an Eskimo basket based on a similar item I saw years ago. Anyone have any info (or even a guess) on age and origin? Your input is appreciated

      It's Yupik Eskimo (actually Cup'ig, a sub-division of Yupik), from Nunivak Island, Alaska. (Not a guess.)
