I found this lamp at a flea market in St Paul this weekend. Although I haven't looked myself, the seller said he saw it was marked Czechoslovakia underneath when he rewired it. I thought it was a steal at 35 bucks. I've never seen a foreign piece of pottery like this. It is large, about 12 1/2 inches for the pottery, mounted on a metal base. I passed it by once, but kept thinking about it but assumed it would be well more than what I wanted to pay. I went back and asked (I learned it pays to ask the hard way) and bought it.

Thanks. I'm not sure about the shade. I don't have a lot of places for lamps this big, except by the bed. the one I have is a plain white oval shape that fits better against the wall without taking up too much room. Cream would be better, but will have to see what I can find. I would love to know what it was originally, maybe a parchment that matched the design. Unfortunately those didn't survive well. I'm guessing this was from the 20s or 30s.

Was wondering if you ever found out the origin of this lamp? I have 2 of similar design with cottage and tree scenes painted on them that my husbands grandmother gave to us. She has since passed away and we have no way of knowing where the lamps originated from or what they are. I just know they are old.

It was made in Czechoslovakia probably in the mid 20s to early 30s. No one really knows the factory. You can find matching pieces for this.
