I am sharing one of my Grandmother's wedding sets - 1930 as I enjoy the beautiful items recently posted by aimathena. Please excuse my crappy photos. Wanted to show you the different items - 7.5" sandwich or dessert plate, cone shape ice cream sundae glass, champagne and wine glass. They were given to me in 1986 and I packed all very carefully in a 1950's suitcase carry-on size when I moved to FL to live w/my sweetheart Tony. I didn't want them sent ahead like all the rest of my precious stuff..... The TSA woman at the security to Miami asked "is this your wedding present?" I said yes from my grandmother Marian.

The rest of the story....as Paul Harvey would say: Since 1986 I used these for everyday - for parties and I've broke a lot of them - cried but enjoyed. My grandmother was not a CW person. She didn't collect much - she enjoyed what she had but never added to it. She didn't like jewelry or clothes or furniture. I don't know where I got my junking gene from...

thanks for sharing your grandmother's gift with CW. They look to be Cambridge #3077 to me with a wheat and/or a cornflower cutting. The color looks like what Cambridge originally called Peach-Blo. You can check the various forms and sizes at "R" and here is a link to a Cambridge Collectors' article.

Thank you tallcakes - Yes - I agree looks like - Cambridge peach-blo wheat. Thank you so much. I tried to find more info online before I posted so I would sound RIGHT and SMART...but you found it right away...I should have just asked you first.

Aww thank you so much Val xoxox
I think they're so beautiful. I love all the pink glassware, and all the different patterns. Which is turning out to be very dangerous for my bank account, I've been buying day and night since I started collecting them. LoL
I have to agree with you that TC is indeed the glass expert and very giving with information.

Val, I keep coming back to look at those glasses... so beautiful.

Thanks Aimathena! I only have 4 ice cream, 3 champagne....and not a surprise - only one wine glass. Yes, I broke the other 3 wine glasses over the years. I have seen them for a fairly decent price but haven't purchased. I have some nice etched clear wine glasses. I don't have ANYTHING as beautiful as your plates.

I felt such a loss when I broke one of my favorite wine glasses and it wasn't even vintage. I can't imagine what you felt/feel. Thank you for the wonderful compliment. Your set is just as beautiful. I bought quite a few more last night and today. I have to avoid the internet for awhile.

I like that you use them. Sounds like your Grandma would too. Of course the wine glasses are going down...
    Yep TC is awesome

Good morning Aimathena! I had to set a serious junking budget a few yrs back - and it has worked!! One thing I do is display my items so when I am tempted - I look at what I have and get them out clean them...which is why I LOVE CW too! Forced me to take pictures and tell the stories. Wonder why it took me so long to get on board. I used to pick up the CW paper all the time. Looking forward to seeing your newest items.. I have some wonderful ceramic tid-bit trays from the 50's-60's I'll post next go around. And...I think I need a nice peach blo platter for my collection. But I don't buy anything bigger than jewelry online. Just me. Thanks again for sharing your passion!

Amber thanks for your comments....now I drink wine like an Italian - in a squat juice glass (no not out of the bottle). My grandmother loved this set but my mom didn't. She tried to sell it! My grandmother's wedding china was shipped in sawdust in a wood barrel from wherever Havilland came from in 1930. Now THAT set for 12 (wow!) went to my Mom and she wants to part it out to us 8 kids. I think we should bid on it because it's not that important to half of us. I think my oldest brother should have it for all he's had to put up with....sigh. Sorry.

TC yes it's very special coming from my grandmother. Isn't she gorgeous? 26 (old!!) and an RN before she got married in 1930.

Oh val, I'm am so worried about buying anything glass online but I never see those items at local flea markets, garage/yard sales. Maybe in the antique shops but their prices are usually thru the roof. I am crossing my fingers the sellers package properly and everything arrives safely. I will set all of them up and take photos. I am really looking forward to seeing your other pieces.

Hi Aimathena - I know what you're up against. It is very hard to find things locally. You have so many great items - I love seeing them. I know you enjoy and hope you use them and take pictures for us when you do! XOXO

Thanks Sean. This is more delicate than I usually collect. I have some more midcentury modern pottery to post but I have to get it all together for proper photos. I think you'll like those. XO
