I saw this today in a new antique store. Was pricey for my taste and I have no idea what the marking reads. Anyone?

Hi, what you have is a stamp for impressing a seal in wax or the like. So the image you are showing is reversed. If you want to present the mark in a more readable form, you can melt a colored candle (red seems to work best), pour a thin layer on aluminum foil backed by a hard surface, and make an impression. Photograph the impression, it can be posted using the edit function. It does not appear to be dynastic. It could be anything from a personal signature to an official seal of some sort. There are some CW members who weigh in on jade/not jade, so perhaps you will get some comment there. Regards, Jim

Wendell thank you very much. This is helpful.

Not nephrite or jadeite for sure. The poor and crude carvings are typical of a modern reproduction. As such, the mark does not matter.
