This is such a beautiful medal. The details on the front of the medal is incredible. I like taking a magnifying glass and study all the little details.
On the back it reads:
Presented by the State of Oregon
In grateful recognition of faithful service rendered during the 1917 -1918 World War.

W&H Whitehead and Hoag Newark NJ Manufactured Medal.

    There were many of these made by states, cities and towns throughout the US.

    Many (like this example) use the US Victory Medal ribbon colors.

    There is a good reference book out there on these by Andrew Lipps.
