I guess 1 out of 15 isn't bad. I received my first box full of shattered depression glassware. How depressing. But... I hope to make a mosaic out of it so that it will not be a complete loss. I just cannot throw away such a beautiful part of history.

Ouch, sorry for that happening, but it does. Hopefully you won't have any more pieces to add to the mosaic and that project will take awhile

I look at the broken glass in a different way. I break glass intentionally. You can't use a modern flat edge scraper to clean a hand planed piece of furniture or you will ruin it. Broken glass works wonders, even in odd contours. As with everything in life, one man's trash is another man's treasure.
Oh. well, I will just stick with a mosaic. Sounds more do-able

Aimathena, want two fractured IVY design Franciscan plate and saucer to go with your shattered Depressionware? If you throw them at a wall it helps to relieve stress......but I hate further damaging vintage glass too.

I didn't want to dwell on the loss, so I focused on what I could still do with them.
I've never made a mosaic, so this is going to be real fun.
I haven't started it yet, but I will post pictures after I make it.
With the exception of two, they were unopened packages.
I received another busted items today. I contacted the seller this morning but no word back as of yet.

Glass tile/mosaic thinset and unsanded grout and you'll be ready to go!I've been putting up a glass tile backsplash,and it's real easy,this would be the same idea.Now get to the big box store,get the stuff, and get to work !!!!!!
