My Dad was a Ford dealer in Blaine, Wa., from 1934 to1975. He had started working for the previous owners of the dealership as a mechanic in 1929 at 18 years of age. The Ford blue oval sign was Ford's logo beginning in 1907. The first year the logo appeared on a ford car was on the 1928 Model. I'm not positive, but am pretty sure this sign in the picture dates back to at least 1928. I worked with my Dad from 1960 to 1976 and the sign hung in front of the building for as long as I remember, (I'm 72 ), until about 1969. The sign is porcelain, double sided and measures 33"by 22.5". In 1971 the building burned down and fortunately the sign had been put away in the basement. In 1982 when Dad passed away, inherited the sign along with various other mementos.
