These recordings came to be only because Al Kooper liked to record live shows when ever possible. Besides being monumental recordings of the Blues guitar legend Michael Bloomfield. It also reveals for the first time heard outside of Texas, now known legendary Blues guitarist Johnny Winter with his rendition of B.B. King's "It's My Own Fault" which got him signed to a major deal with Columbia three days later. Al Kooper stated these recordings as, "It happened one weekend at the Fillmore East. It doesn't happen like that anymore."
