Very old wood trunk form 1800's? It has a bearclaw lock that works. The trunk was reinforced at some point prior to 1900 and has a hand made bearclaw lock and key. The lock works and it was valued in 1965 to be worth the purchase price of the trunk. Any thoughts on the background of such trunks?
