I cannot decifer this mark! I know the first three characters (top down from the top right to bottom right) are Da Ri Qiu ???? this i'm not sure of) But what do the marks mean? I only found one reference to the right three online and the article's writer had no info either!!!

Isn't this piece beautiful? There is crawling on the glaze and you can see where the design was hand-drawn. This design was drawn by hand and not transferred.

Hi Turtle, your Japanese pitcher dates to late Meiji, 1890 to 1920. The right stack reads 'Dai Nichi Hon', Great Japan. The left stack is under a 'yago', a roof-like mark indicating 'house' or 'in the house of'. The remainder of the stack would be the shop or kiln. I scanned Gotheborg's marks without finding it, but may have missed it. If you would like to scan, the site is:

I have a few other sources and will look further for the mark. if I find it, I will let you know. Good luck, Jim

Thanks Jim! I appreciate the comment very much! I thought it was Chinese until you said something! I have been looking for the mark for the past 30 minutes and cannot find it either! Weird! Anyways, thanks again! - Turtle
