    (202 items)

I just returned from a great trip to Passau Germany, the Bohemian Forest in the Czech Republic and Vienna. I saw so much glass in museums and galleries that my phone nearly crashed! Here is the only piece I purchased. It was marked 1920 Bohemian vase and was selling for about half of what I think it is worth... so needles to say I looked for cracks or glue trailing. I have seen many vertical stripe pieces (Ausf 157) but never this shape. It measures an astounding 14" (35"cm) tall in lavender base color with red vertical stripes and black foot and handles (there goes the theory that tango has to be bi-colored).

I wonder If the foot and handles made the appraiser think it was was a Kralik tango or some other competitor?
NOTE: The handle ends match perfectly with the kind of work seen on three handle pieces.

What is the first? I have seen a few three color tango (idea of post!) but I think the first might be how big the piece is 157s are rarely 11"

We spent some days in Passau last summer and it truly is a beautiful city! Did you stay at the Wilder Mann too? I think Crlos took over 1100 pics in the museum!!!

Yes, Passau means Wilder mann (unless you like barge cruises) I was in the Museum, they were moving things all over the place and the lower floors (with all the Kralik-Czech-German 1920's-30's glass) were closed. also the MAK in Vienna has a new exhibit called Wein 1900.

I have some great pics to trade if anyone has pics of the old Kunstglas exhibit.

Its a pity the lower plant was closed, isn't it? And also part of the first plant was, as they were keeping all the items from the ground floor there.
The amazing thing is they had time to take all the stuff upstairs. The whole ground floor was covered by water.

I guess we all will have to go back to Passau!!! LOL
As for Vienna, it is on our Art Nouveau cities list... maybe in 2014 :)

yes, we need a travel agent. lets all show up for a whole day of glass oogling then go down the street to the bierworks for therapy! I hope this opportunity will be good for the museum to expand the kralik-Czech deco-Welz-Ruckl part of their collection
