    i have no idea where it is from. it is about about 18 inches tall and 12 in wide and made of a wood that seems very hard but not heavy. it also seems to b made from a section of tree trunk

      This kind of looks like a carved tribal mask, by the simple design It might be african. Being from Hawaii I have learned that polynesian, micronesian and asian tribal masks are very ornate with carved designs and color and are usually not solid like this one. Now this is just a good guess on my part and I could be mistaken, all in all it's an interesting piece. I bet there's someone else out there who knows more about this and can really help you, good luck Aloha
