In 1908, my grandmother returned home to California after the death of her first husband. The train stopped in Arizona to allow the passengers to browse and buy wares being offered by the Indians on the platform. This basket is one several American Indian items she purchased. I would really like to know more about the basket.

It is Native American, made by the Papago Tribe.
