I have an Illinois pocket watch that belonged to my Great Grandfather. It is engraved on the back from his employer, Mutual Trust, for an award he received 1930-31.

I'm not even sure how to open the watch to get the serial number, as I don't want to damage it.

I have been unable to locate the same watch. This watch has a pearlized face and gold numbers (most are white with black numbers). Any help or information would be appreciated.

Here is a link to show you how to open a pocket watch case. Without seeing the movement and knowing the serial number, it is impossible to tell you what you have.

The dial configuration matches the dial #8146 in the Illinois Identification & Price Guide book I have. It is described as, Silver finish, etched raised figures, Regular 12 size. The book is not in color and it does not say the raised figures are gold.
Nice looking watch and family heirloom to have in your possession.
