    The two lanterns on the left are old railroad lanterns.The two on the right are marked "Dietz". I don't think the two on the right are too old ,as they are in perfect shape.

      I love that yellow signal lantern. I think that railroad lanterns tend to look better with some age and rust. And you are right in thinking that the lanterns on the right are not very old. I have never seen the electric blue paint on any but the most recent Dietz lanterns - still a couple of decades old, but not as old as the railroad lanterns.

      The yellow lamp is a marker lamp most likley marked PRR allthough the NYNH&H and LIRR used that style as well. The lantern on the right ia an Adlake Kero (short globe lantern). The little wizard and D-light blue Dietz lanterns have a "japan" finish and were common as barn, construction and farm use. and the little red lantern looks to be a Dietz Comet which was a home use lantern. hope this helps.
