This vase is really beautiful Jono. I have some similar but smaller pieces. The raised design used to decorate it is known as "moriage". It was popular around the late 19th early 20th century. They take clay and slip and apply it almost like you would decorate a cake. It is most probably Chinese or Japanese but some pieces were made in Hong Kong, and Macau as well. Could be worth a few dollars too. Very nice indeed ! -Mike-
