I have this same item, and can't find anything out about it, only this post. You say the siderails are missing, but mine looks the same way. has anyone shed some light on this post? (I came int0 owning it after my Grandfather passed away)

I also have the same item. Mine don't have any siderails or a name plate. Everything else looks the same. I got mine at a yard sale I think over 30 years ago. I used to keep my pot in it until I found out my kids were using it. This is the first time I have ever seen another one.
