What I've come up with from Gotheberg so far is:

" Great Ming / Quing / (Emperor's Reign, Kuang Hsu? / Made In "

Any Asian experts out there have any corrections or suggetions? I'm having trouble with mark number 3 (bottom eight hand corner). I've seen it on Google but can't get a lead on it.

Hi Stillwater, the mark reads 'Great Qing Tongzhi Period Make' (1862 - 1873).
I think the vase is not of the period, but you should seek another opinion regarding this. Tongzhi is a popular mark on reproductions. Best wishes, Jim

Yeah I knew it wasn't an original, since I know they used old marks on new pieces. Still has some age to it though, based on it the wear and dirt

    Thanks Jim

    Hey Jim,

I was wondering if you could tell me how you are able to translate common Chinese marks/characters? Is there a book or a website? Or just from scanning the internet?
