Coke can added for size reference . Salesman sample ? This device was used by plumbers or anyone really to heat stuff up in a hurry . The catch is you fill it up with gasoline and then fill the ring at the top with gasoline and light it . Sometime before it goes kaaboom ! you open the valve at rear and the now pressurized gasoline comes spraying out . So you get out your matches and set it on fire again ! If everything goes right you begin work .or maybe you run around yelling help ! help ! put me out !
I've never had the guts to try it but I would like to know more about it . It is very small (as quarter should indicate )and kind of a cool man cave item .When it was made and value would be nice to know too . Thanks ,Jack

I like your description! the label is in very bad condition. I have seen some of these up for auction on ebay for around $10.00 and good condition. There is another one out there with the label that reads "Alcohol" instead of "Gasoline", the "Alcohol" label gets more - approx. $30.00. I would like to know what other people have seen about these torches from Lenk MFG CO in Newton, Mass.
Oh yeah, some people say it is a copper or brass blowtorch.. I think it is brass. I like to collect fire extinguishers, and typically the brass fire extinguishers were introduced early 1900s, your blowtorch may be 1920s-1930s. Still interested in other comments. :)
I actually bought one of these at a thrift store last month. It is in much worse shape, but mine was full, however when I bought it. It is Kerosene/Gasoline and it had the original wick.
