Here's yet another clock I picked up at VOA yesterday.When I saw the 3 key holes I knew it did more than just "bong". Kind of a simple basic design made of heavy red oak. I've read that some of these may have been "kit clocks" but not sure about this one. It has a few brass embellishments on the front and a lion's head with a ring in it's mouth on each side. I haven't found one like it online either. The back was missing all the screws so it was taped in place. I can understand why as the only access to the movements selector levers is from inside. As far as I can figure out there is a lever that selects the 3 melodies plus silence, and one that lifts the 3 hour hammers but not the chime sequence. The chimes have a really beautiful soft tone. not something you mind in the least hearing all night.The hammers needed a bit of adjusting as a couple were too close causing the note to buzz and sound out of tune and dull. A bit of a pain because space is limited. The movement is stamped 83 (the year?) "Mason and Sullivan Co." (2 jewels) made in West Germany 1050-020. I've read that these may actually be Hermle movements. It was a bit stubborn at first to get going but a few drops of clock oil did the trick. Ran all night with no problems so far. -Mike-

My poor clock ! 2 months after I bought it it's broken :( I was winding it yesterday heard a noise and the key just spun around with no resistance. The main spring had broken away from it's mounting. Hermle main springs are suppose to be easy to replace but I don't know how much I'll have to disassemble to get at it. Guess I'm going to find out.
I recently came across this same clock during a clean out. It has no back other than that all the parts are there, but not working. could someone give me some info on it and is it at all desired in the clock world? Any information is much appreciated, thank you!
