In 1939 it was decided to paint ARP & home front helmets black, previous to this they were painted khaki green.
For some reason either by choice or the person left the ARP this one is still in it's original factory khaki green paint, making it a rare & hard to find helmet.
Helmet & liner are dated 1939, chin strap lugs 1938.
