Here are three envelopes.

3 Postal Envelopes ...
two stamped,
Sacramento CA to Ms Belle Grainger of Oroville CA, 1882
Eldorado KS to Mrs M.J. McDaniel of Great Bend KS, 1895

An advertising cover for Brookfield Missouri

It reads
Return in 5 Days to
J.D. Donovan
Fancy Groceries and Meats
"School Supplies, Too"
111 E. Canal St. Telephone 143
Brookfield, Mo

(Don't try the phone number, it is no longer in service) ;-)

NOW ... you aren't going to believe this ... but ... as I was typing this I read for the first time the name on the letter from El Dorado KS.

The McDaniels are some of my realitives, and come from El Dorado KS

First, tell us where you got these envelopes. If you got them in an antique mall in Cleveland, then that's Amazing. If you got them from a trunk in your attic...well...LOL

Actually I got them from a plastic bag in my office :-)

... The contents of which I have bought over time at flea markets and auctions. I have had these for several years.

As I am adopted, I didn't know much of my "natural" family's surnames and towns of origin. This I have learned in the last year or so.

Still, pretty cool. I LOVE the Columbian Exposition stamp!
