I have a huge collection of Antique Steiff and toys on wheels, I purchased this Giraffe from England years ago .It stands 51" tall, I know the dealer bought it in the South of France at a street market........ I can't find another one like it and i have looked and looked, anyone know the value and date?????????? I have even contacted a Antique dealer who knows her Steiff and they had no idea accept(maybe a private commissioned piece).....it is made of mohair, straw stuffed, iron carriage ,rubber wheels,glass eyes and original leather straps,reins.........................Help

I am online today looking for a seated Leo lion by Steiff to reunite with my Coco monkey Steiff. A relative brought my sister and I each Steiff stiffed animal upon returning to US after a visit to Germany. I have my monkey, but don't know where the lion went! Anyway, was looking at the Ihe I Love My Steiff show and tell pages and came across this giraffe. Magnificant. What a creation. You are lucky to have found this treasure.
