This amazing vase was bought in 1979 in the Italian village of Alassio along with the Italian zoomorphic vase I posted about last month.(http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/105265-anonymous-porcelain-zoomorphic-vase-ita?in=user)

The shape is one of those the great Beate Kuhn designed for Rosenthal. We thought the Joan Miró-like decoration was made by Klaus Bendixen, but we recently found a pic of a simmilar vase with a simmilar decoration in a book on Rosenthal and it happend both shape and decoration belong to Beate Kuhn. The vase is signed at the base "1378U Handgemald K". It stands 21 cm tall. On pic. 4 you can see a pic of that book.

As we've got other Beate Kuhn stuff, I will tell more about her later.

Nice mate, I spent a bit of time on the net on Beate half an hour ago having seen the posting by GTMOOM. This one is great. Look forward to seeing the others. I have an idea I have a white piece somewhere.

Even if I see them everyday and took the pictures loooong time ago -well, about a month or so- I had actually forgotten i wanted to share this vase here. It was GTMOOM's vase that reminded me of it!!!

We recently found out that the decoration of this vase is also Beate Kuhn's. I've just added the pic of the page with the photo and text proving it.

      that's a desirable piece
      i'm jealous
    14. austrohungaro austrohungaro, 10 years ago
The shape can be sort of easily found but I this decoration is so amazing!

Not reason to be jealous of us anyway, look at all that amazing stuff you've got: Paul Dachsel's vase, Sarpaneva's Devil's fist, the amazing Walter Bosse Hagenauer figurines... :)

you're funny.... and it seems that you're a little sandbagger :-)
you've got a collection some people would kill for my dear
and most of my stuff is sold allready
as an unskilled artist i have to sell everything sooner or later
    16. austrohungaro austrohungaro, 10 years ago
Sorry to hear that you sold most of that great stuff!

Yes, I have to agree we've got a good collection :) if only we could display it properly and in just one place!

      that's ok like it is...
at least nobody can tell me what i have to do... i'm not good in having a boss
sometimes i'm on the rocks but therefore i have lots of spare time

i actually display most of my stuff in banana boxes in the basement
thats space-saving and allways a surprise when i open a box
sometimes a nice surprise but sometimes i ask myself why i've bought this sh... once ago
