I don't know anything about the piece, There is marking on the glass on the bottom but it is obscured by the metal wrap. It's approximately 9" high and 4" wide.
I bought it in Long Island, NY at a random antique shop. I could never figure out it's purpose as the top unscrews. There is random black residue that comes out if the piece is open and upside down.
I would love to know anything about this piece.

It looks like maybe there is a piece missing to it? As though the screw-off part not attaches to the vial on one end, and attaches to something else on the other end?
Ide guess its a purfume bottle?
I was thinking perfume vial and the attached piece is a dipper, but the ends both seem to screw onto something?
I just added a picture of some similar bottles that I have. I took pictures of the nozzle looking thing that screws on too. Maybe we can figure this out...
